The Quiet Zone: HK Quarantine Centre
這些攝影作品紀錄了香港在疫情期間曾被用作臨時隔離設施的建築物。這些建築曾被嚴密監控，但如今開始被淡忘，然而它們依然凝結著人類在疫情期間的集體經歷。
我使用「新地形學」（New Topographics）的方法，利用黑白攝影來描述一種被精確控制但無人使用的景觀。照片著眼於隔離中心外圍的圍欄、閘門和緩衝區。這些外圍元素蘊含著當時「封閉」和「隔離」的感覺。在俯瞰角度下，設施呈現嚴謹的幾何布局、通道的分區與高效的規劃，顯示出它們為應對疫情而設計。
These photographic pieces document temporary Hong Kong pandemic isolation centers. Even though these structures will soon be mere memories, they are still a symbol of the shared human experience of the moment.
With the style of New Topographics, I shoot in black-and-white a precisely controlled but empty landscape. I concentrate on the border of the quarantine camps—fences, gates, and buffer strips. The fences give a physical sense of "closure" and "isolation" typical of the period. The buildings in aerial view also reflect harsh geometric layouts, compartmentalization of corridors, and the effective planning —all typical of their pandemic response architecture.
