Urban Mirrors: A Typology of Reflections
我以左右對稱構圖系統地拍攝遍佈香港的光滑玻璃幕牆。在這些影像中，畫面的一半是現實的切片— 建築、天空和街景確實出現照片中，而另一半則是它們的倒影 — 錯置的虛像。
照片的對稱不只是拍攝形式上的選擇，更是一種認知的提問。我們感知的「空間」，究竟是由實體還是被無數反射和折射所構成？在香港這座密集的城市中，其實就像在實體與虛幻的迷陣裡。我們所見到的「世界」，是否只是認知的產物？鏡像的兩側，哪一邊更真實？當自己也正被反射其中，真實或許從來都是主體與空間構成的意識，而所謂「真實」，從未單一和絕對。
I systematically documented the shiny glass curtains around Hong Kong, taking advantage of symmetry. Half of what you see in the viewfinder of the camera in the images presented here are slices of reality, of buildings, sky, and human activity that exists in space, and the other half is the image of themselves, an elsewhere illusion.
What is "space" and what is it that we see? Is it real or made by reflections and refractions? Is the "world" that we see merely a perception? Of the two sides of the mirror, which is more real? And, when we ourselves are reflected in it, maybe reality has always been a consciousness developed between the subject and the space, and that cannot be one or absolute.
