In the countryside and along the shores of the New Territories, the government has built some artificial channels and slopes. These seemingly unremarkable structures are not designed to beautify the environment, but they play an important role in flood control and resisting landslides. However, these structures exhibit a different kind of vitality at specific times. Every dry season, when these structures begin to dry up, some wild grass, shrubs or moss grow quietly in the drains and on the ground, and these plants become the embellishments of these structures.
